We have been working with the Royal Irish Academy of Music for nearly 15 years. The first collaboration was the creation of their identity and the working relationship has grown since then. Over the years we have worked on numerous projects with the Academy from corporate communications to one-off promotions.
We took a typographical illustrative approach for the Royal Irish Academy's 2011 Annual Report. We created the logo from 5mm foamcore cut-outs, assembling by hand before photographing at various angles and compositions. We wanted the finished result to have a hand-look feel as opposed to the perfection of a 3D computer rendering. We continued the visual style on the interior of the report as well.
